Wider than me: Atelier Mondial & Artstübli

Cordial invitation to the finissage:

The exhibition "Wider than me" brings together four positions by artists from Mulhouse, Oaxaca and New York who have travelled the world and the Basel region with the Atelier Mondial scholarship programme. All four artists deal in very different ways with the question of how we can transcend our current circumstances, how we can transcend the supposed limitations of our time and how art can describe and comment on this. How can we gain a new relationship to nature, of which we have always (been) a part, how can we preserve it? How can we transform the categories of gender, sexuality and ethnicity into something greater that connects us? Which paths lead out of the expectations of traditional family ties and where can the finite touch the infinite?
