Artstübli Gallery would like to thank you for the numerous visits and conversations at the booth of VOLTA Art Fair from June 12 to 18.
Eddie Hara, who lives and works in Basel after an artistic education that stretched from Indonesia to the Netherlands. With his paintings inspired by children's art, street art, comics and musical subcultures, Hara aims to get viewers thinking about global issues, particularly war, poverty and identity.
Simon Berger, a skilled carpenter and lover of mechanics, was inspired by car bodies to use glass as a medium to convey the depths of portraiture. The effect of his pioneering work is enhanced by the use of a hammer to create various shades, textures and reflections that come together to create expressive portraits. Having perfected his work with faces, Berger now turns to mirrors with new dimensions.
