Urban Art interprets the city as an open-air gallery, adapts to the environment, presents itself freely accessible to all strata of the population and invites the beholder to rediscover even familiar places. At Dreispitz in Basel, such facade art was not created secretly in 2019, as is so often the case, but curated as part of Artyou Walls'19. Since then, the house-high painting by the iconic Hendrik Beikirch has been emblazoned on Florenz-Strasse. The second year of the art project will kick off in the autumn of 2021. Nationally and internationally renowned artists* will once again create site-specific works at Dreispitz - including at the CMS-sponsored TransBona Hall dedicated to cultural projects - and will leave further distinctive traces there.
CMS supports the 2021 project with a contribution of CHF 30,000.
