Wiktoria Tundys

CURATOR, ART AND CULTURE MANAGER

Art historian, curator, and photographer with an MA in Fine Arts. She is an interdisciplinary researcher specializing in cultural, social, and anthropological studies. Her work combines art historical analysis with anthropological research and a deep commitment to cultural diversity. She designs and realizes projects that not only raise aesthetic questions but also encourage critical reflection on the societal and identity.

After graduating from the University of Fine Arts in Szczecin (Poland), with a focus on Painting, Photography, and New Media, she deepened her research and practice through field studies in Papua New Guinea and Kenya, where she explored the impact of art and culture on social structures and identity building processes. As a researcher, she has contributed to various interdisciplinary projects, including TPAAE (Transcultural Perspectives in Art and Art Education), where she was assistant to the main coordinator and was involved in the organization of the TPAAE DUOS Festival in 2020. She later completed a curatorial internship at the Eva Kahan Foundation in Vienna, further enhancing her expertise in exhibition organization and art mediation.

Since 2024, she has been based in Basel, where she is involved in the local art scene. She is internationally active and continuously works on projects that address both global and local themes in contemporary art. As part of Artstübli Kunst & Kultur, she leads curatorial projects that explore the social and political dimensions of art and push forward current discourses.

Her previous exhibitions include TRAFO in Szczecin (Poland), Feminist Park Collective (Berlin), KUDOS, Atelier Salon in Basel, and several other projects that deal with themes such as postcolonial studies, cultural diversity, and the search for an intercultural dialogue. Her curatorial practice is particularly marked by a deep engagement with contemporary neoutopian discourses and focuses on exploring commonalities in cultural differences as well as the connection between humans and the natural world.
